STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Counter flow heat exchange with removable elements for easy service or cleaning. Low gas side pressure drop has minimum effect on existing forced draft gas burners (adds only 0.5"w.c. to firebox pressure).

Heat exchange elements with stainless steel tubes and aluminum fins are standard for applications with higher pressures and temperatures (650 Psig at 400 ºF). Aluminum .03 gauge fins are standard through the 600 HP size; aluminum .06 gauge fins are provided with 600 HP and larger units. Higher heat transfer elements with copper tubes are furnished for lower pressure and temperature applications (170 Psig at 300ºF) such as process or domestic HW heating.

An integral automatic bypass damper is required for standby oil firing by means of interconnection with the fuel transfer switch. The automatic bypass is also required with a high temperature limit when the HEATMIZER is used to heat a HW tank.

Manual operation of the bypass damper may be substituted for (standard) automatic operation.

Each unit includes (4) bimetal thermometers to indicate water in & out and flue gas in & out. 3" dial size thermometers are standard through the FGL 120; 5" dial size thermometers are standard for larger sizes.

Heavy steel mounting pads are located at each bottom corner of the unit to facilitate attachment to field erected support structure. Top mounted lifting eyes provide alternative attachment by support rods to overhead structural steel.

Control cabinet is furnished with the bypass damper system and includes:

  • Control switch, On/Off
  • Fuse & holder
  • (2) lamps, Recover/Bypass
  • Manual damper control switch, Recover/Bypass
  • 120/24VAC step down transformer for actuator when required
  • Terminal strip for field wiring

HEATMIZER standard pricing includes a flue gas inlet mounting flange adapter plate for field welding to the boiler and an outlet mounting flange ring for field welding to the stack. The standard pricing assumes these flanges will be nominally sized for the stack diameters shown in the accompanying chart. Significant deviations from these nominal diameters may affect pricing. Specify actual boiler outlet I.D. and flange dimensions with your order.

Condensing applications (entering water temperature under 120ºF) require SS stack and HEATMIZER condensate piped to drain.

All dimensions are nominal; request certified drawing before construction.
